Congratulations Mia 馃憦

Mia H (Y9) won most improved player of the year at the U17/18鈥檚 County Netball Performance Academy last night.

Mia won this 2 years ago in her 1st year in the U13鈥檚 Performance Team and because she was such a strong player she was accepted straight into the U17/18 Performance Team at just 13 years old!

Brilliant achievement Mia, we're over the moon for you 馃ぉ馃弳

We are delighted to share some fantastic news for one of our Year 10 pupils!

We can now celebrate that Sophie Wood (Y10) has been selected to play for England (Bowls England) in the British Isles Under 18's International Series!

Sophie will travel to Belfast as a 'new cap' in July to take part. 馃ぉ馃檶

It's an amazing achievement and also a fantastic experience for Sophie. We're so pleased for her and can't wait to hear all about it after the event.

Well done Sophie! We wish you and the team all the very best of luck. 馃ぉ馃憦

Further update re: Whessoe Road Fire

Following a town wide meeting of professionals and the fire service this afternoon, we have been informed that the situation with the fire on Whessoe Road will only improve over the course of tonight.

Therefore, school will be open as normal from 8:30am tomorrow morning (Thursday 23rd May).

As advised, we will continue to keep windows and doors closed and pupils will remain inside at break and lunch time.

Current Whessoe Road Fire Update

Longfield Academy remains open. We are following advice from the Darlington Fire Brigade which states we are to close windows and doors and keep pupils inside as much as possible.

At this moment in time, we have not been advised to close the school and releasing pupils into the surround area at this time would not be beneficial.
